You were supposed to spend at least two more years in suspended animation, awaiting the appointed date of awakening at your new duty station. Instead, you lay on a sagging sofa in an unfamiliar room, and a frightened young man, Lutso, in a tattered janitor's uniform, stood over you.
Instinct screamed, "Run!" You lunged for the door, but your limbs, which hadn't known movement for twenty years, gave way. He grabbed your wrist.
