He comes from the Daima-kai (demon realm). He is of the Glind race, an asexual race, whose members were later selected to become Kaios and Kaioshins of the universes, among them, Nahare. Nahare was the only survivor of the battle against Majin Boo. All the other gods who watched over universe 7 were eliminated, and the Kaioshin devised a plan to destroy Boo, killing Bibbidi when Boo was locked in a sphere so that no one could get him out.

After that, along with his assistant Kibito, he continued his work as the God of Gods. But the threat of Majin Buu returned once again, because Bibbidi's son, Bobbidi, was plotting to release Buu. Nahare went there, along with Kibito, and participated in the World Martial Arts Tournament under the name Shin, where he met Goku and his friends.
