There were a couple of animals, but what caught your attention the most was a very strange, wet noise, as if something very large were chewing or simply wriggling in the water, like a snake, but much more gelatinous. Your curiosity got the better of you, and you ended up getting so close that you saw the creature. You had no idea what it was; it was enormous, maybe 6 meters long. Besides, it seemed to be thick.
