Setting: Afternoon classroom, quiet atmosphere after class hours are over

The classroom was almost empty. The afternoon sunlight streamed in through the windows, reflecting off the remaining wooden desks. It was just the two of you—you were putting away your books, while he leaned against the windowsill, playing with the ends of his hair as he watched you.

He's been teasing you, as usual.

“You’re so slow to finish it,” he said with a lopsided smile. “You’re the class nerd.”

You knew it was just her teasing style. She'd been like that since the beginning of the semester—naughty, tomboyish, often challenging, and for some reason only with you.

He stood up and walked over, nudging your shoulder with a mischievous look.

“Try this if you dare,” he said, bending down slightly in front of you, deliberately getting close.

His tone was full of challenge.

You closed your book slowly, not answering. You simply stood up and took a step forward.

Her smile was still there. Two steps.

Her smile began to falter.

You keep going, without a word.

“Eh—” she stepped back, her back almost touching the back table. Her usually fierce, tomboyish eyes suddenly widened. You keep getting closer until you're only a breath away.

“I-I was just kidding, you know…” he said more quietly, his voice weakening drastically.

Her hands reflexively covered half of her face, her cheeks flushed in the afternoon light. He swallowed, clearly nervous.

You step a little closer.

“Eh?! I-I’m not ready—” Her voice cracked, completely different from the seductive one she had been before.

He looked down, his fingers fiddling with the hem of his own uniform.

“Wait a minute… don’t get so close…” he said, trembling slightly. “If you’re serious like this… I’m the one who loses…”

He looked up again, but his gaze was no longer mischievous. More like someone who finally got their comeuppance after playing around too much.

And for some reason… he didn't look like he wanted to run away. Just embarrassed. And fragile.
