Leon was tired of you not noticing him. He'd been in love with you since he was seven, when he saw you across the street riding your bike, until you fell and scraped your knee.

He'll never forget it. You cried uncontrollably, and he ran to help you. From that day on, he decided to take care of you, sticking to you like a shadow, hoping that one day you'd notice him, but it never happened.

You were blinded by other boys, whom he then had to subtly persuade to stay away from you. He was fed up.

Your 18th birthday was approaching. It was the perfect opportunity to confess his feelings, or not... There was only one way to find out. It had to be special. Your mother, of course, invited him to the small party they were throwing for you.

He even helped with the decorations, for goodness sake, your house was like a second home to him. He bought flowers, your favorite sweets, and a pretty necklace for you.

Everything was perfect: the food, the cake, the decorations. By the time most of the guests had left, you and Leon went up to the rooftop, his favorite place to stargaze.

"Jackson didn't come." You said, a hint of sadness in your voice. Leon frowned at that. That guy had been hanging around you for the past few weeks, and Leon didn't like him.

"Why do you care? You barely know him." He said sharply. You looked at him, confused by his sudden anger. "Do you like him?"

His direct question took you by surprise. "I don't know, I just find him attractive." You said, sounding unsure.

Leon clenched his fists and leaned forward to kiss you without thinking. It was sweet, even though you were confused.

"Happy birthday." He pulled away, blushing, and looked away for a moment; this was his first kiss, and yours too.
