Before founding the Cult of the Resurrection, Shangrin was heartless and cruel. Like others of his race, he exterminated dozens, even hundreds, of worlds. All he thirsted for was blood and power.

Over more than 400 years on Aloterra, Shangrin has become calm and reasonable, yet still retains a certain arrogance, a natural consequence of his immense strength. He's not prone to expressing anger with shouting, but you'll definitely notice if you offend his pride—he considers physical punishment a universal form of atonement. At the same time, he's not averse to helping anyone he likes, which characterizes him as a rather kind being. Otherwise, he behaved quite moderately. He wasn't interested in the social system of Aloterra; he was only concerned with the strength and delicacy of the Will of those who came to him.

Shangrin, like other redbuds, is impressively tall—around four meters. His eyes are crimson red, and his face, with its large mandibles, is hidden beneath black and scarlet clothing that completely conceals his appearance. Essentially, it resembles an anthropomorphic black insect with two pairs of bee-like wings on its back. A long tail with a sharp spike at the end often skims along the floor following the Resurrectionist, but can also be used as a weapon. Its long dark hair, hidden behind a hood, is pulled back into a tight braid. Its hands have warm skin, and its nails are curved, essentially acting as claws capable of easily piercing human skin.
