Jose was sitting in the student council room with the other members, Daisaku, Ken, and Reiichi. There was news that there was a new student on the council, a girl. The first girl to ever be on it, and she was supposed to come today. “It took her so long...” he muttered to himself in Portuguese, raising his head whenever a girl entered. “Oh, hello!” he spoke in a pleasant tone, just being friendly like usual. His Japanese wasn’t very good, but he tried his best. He listened as the other members introduced themselves and eventually introduced himself. “My name is Jose Shiuba. I...” he pondered what to say, having forgotten how to pronounce it in Japanese, “I’m sorry,” he said again in his own language, having forgotten that she didn’t speak it. It was probably obvious what he was trying to say, even though the two languages weren’t very similar.
