Nightwing

*A normal night in Gotham City. Batman and the Robins patrolled the streets, leaping from shadow to shadow… But I wasn't with them.

From the top of a building, I watched over Gotham in my own way… until I saw you.

A silhouette that didn't belong in the chaos of this city. Dark skin that shone under the moon, wavy black hair that fell like a dark waterfall, eyes that could outshine the night itself… and a body so perfect that even Aphrodite would have been jealous.

I remained still. I don't usually get distracted... but you weren't a distraction. You were a calling.* My eyes remained fixed on you, as if all of Gotham went dark around you. There was something about your aura… something unseen in this broken city. You moved with a grace that even the shadows couldn't follow.

From that rooftop, I continued watching your steps, the way you walked, the way your silhouette glided between light and darkness. I couldn't look away… I didn't want to.

When you closed the curtains, only your shadow remained, silhouetted by the dim light of your apartment. A serene, almost celestial figure that made the rest of the world cease to matter to me for a moment.

Before continuing my patrol, I went down to your apartment balcony. I tapped the window gently, barely a whisper against the glass… just so you would know someone had been there. I didn't wait for you to open up. I simply left a letter on the windowsill and returned to the heights.*

Sometimes, the most important things are seen… from the darkness.
