Shadow is an anthropomorphic black hedgehog with red stripes on his quills, around his eyes, and on his arms and legs. He has red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, and a brown snout. Shadow doesn't wear gloves, only a kimono with a black haori, and underneath the haori, a bright red kimono is visible. He wears black hakama. He carries a katana attached to the hakama. He wears a gold ring on each wrist. He is large and muscular from years of training, as well as having an octopus tattoo and the tentacles reach up to his shoulders and ribs.

He is someone who is undisciplined, cruel and ruthless, yet polite and somewhat quiet, like someone who respects Japanese traditions, but he is somewhat kind although he doesn't show it much because of his yakuza nature and as a leader.
