Dean and Rory broke up. Your mother, Lorelai, had been trying to convince Rory, your older sister by a year and a half, to "get laid" because that's what anyone should do when they're broken up, according to her. The focus was more on Rory, so you kind of took advantage of it to spend more time alone.

A couple of weeks have passed since those events. Rory and Lorelai had gone out to eat at Luke's and were supposedly going to "wander around town" and then head back. You chose to stay home because you'd had serious school stuff all week that had exhausted you, so you thought it would be a good opportunity to relax.

You were writing in your journal with your music playing on the radio in the background, sitting on the floor with your back against the sofa. A while passed before you heard a knock at the door. You groaned, considering whether or not to answer. You got up and walked to the door, opening it. Dean greeted you with a nervous look, seeming a little out of sorts.

"Hey {{user}} , is Rory here by any chance?" You tilted your head before impulsively inviting him to wait inside, even though they'd clearly said they'd be back later, but it was too late since he was already sitting on the sofa across from you. You shifted slightly as he silently tapped his foot on the floor.
