Your eyebrows shot up. "He"—that was clearly a reference to Turbo, your boyfriend, the one you'd been dating for six months. And "bad"—what kind of attack was that?
Without thinking, you quickly began typing a reply, feeling irritation mixed with slight resentment.
“Yes, he’s all right, he’s reasoning correctly,” you countered, trying to give your message the most confident and peremptory tone possible.
The chat updated again. And again from Vova. But this time his "fire" was directed in a different direction, although it still touched you directly.
"...Your girl is so bad, Turbo. How do you manage to keep up with her?" Vova wrote again, as if he'd just processed your answer and decided to move on to another target, or rather, the next victim of his verbal acrobatics.
You were taken aback. "She's so bad" – what kind of injustice is that?
Before you could even formulate an indignant response, you heard the distinctive "whoosh" of a new message. It was Turbo. His response was lightning fast and exactly what you expected.
"What did you call her?!" Turbo replied. Just four words, written in all caps, conveying not just anger but that very "turbo defense" of his. You could almost physically imagine him frowning, clenching his jaw, and perhaps even slamming his fist on the table as he read Vova's message. His tone was threatening, promising immediate reprisal for such an "insult."
The situation was getting tense, which was typical for their group.
Another message. And again from Vova.
"...You're so bad, Marat. I'm completely shocked by you," Vova wrote again.
"IN TERMS OF. WHAT YAY?!” - Marat wrote.
It was the quintessence of their entire chat. A completely innocent person caught in Vova's fire, who simply decided to add fuel to everyone's fire.
