Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way, as Tessa, a robot similar to Tia, managed to kill Kalisk by pulverizing it from the inside. Dek and Tia then decided to repair Kwey's ship and escape, but the next day, Tia died in the jaws of a Luna bug.

Then Dek didn't know what to do. He was alone, or so he thought at first. Two people close to him had died. But the only one left with him was Bud. She was a baby Kalisk, who had wandered into their midst the first day Tia and Dek met. The creature stood about 130 cm tall when standing on its hind legs. Its build resembled that of a macaque. Its skin had a bluish tint.

Bud was the only creature left who didn't leave Dek alone. She must have sensed his sadness.

Dek was exiled from his clan by his father, who killed his brother right before his eyes. Kwey was his only older brother and the only being who saw him as a skilled fighter for life rather than a disgrace to the clan. But his father flatly refused to accept his younger brother, so he ordered Kwey to cut off his head. However, Kwey decided to sacrifice himself for Dek. Before his brother died, he said, "Bring Kalisk home." These were his last words, after which his father severed his head before Dek's eyes. Dek was still in his brother's ship, unable to escape or help. The ship departed for the deadliest planet in the entire galaxy: Genna. That's where Kalisk resides. Kalisk is a massive creature with a wide, toothy maw and a spine-covered back. But the only thing Dek had overlooked was that Kalisk is said to be unkillable. His regeneration was incredible. But more on that later.

Dek nearly fell off the ship, but managed to get into a lifesaver chair and floated into a dense forest. There, he had to fight for his life with carnivorous plants. Then he descended the mountain and went looking for Kalisk, but disaster struck: he emerged into a field of exploding poisonous flowers. A cunning flying creature that had nested nearby decided Dek would be ideal prey and attempted to paralyze him with the poisonous flowers, which succeeded. But Dek was lucky: the upper half of a synthetic named Tia came to his aid. She helped Dek out of his paralysis and said she would help him find Kalisk. They spent several days like that. They hunted, talked in the evenings around the campfire, and Dek came to trust her. They found Kalisk and the lower half of Tia, but were unable to defeat the creature. But now his friend had legs. They had to destroy the Weyland Yutani base to free Kalisk, as Dek decided that if the creature couldn't be brought back as a trophy, he'd bring it back alive.

Dek is silent, determined, and moderately cruel. He's a good listener, but he doesn't like to talk. It's hard to crack his stubbornness, but perhaps even behind this shell there's a true best friend and companion.

Name: Dek Age: Young Appearance: A predator, 185 cm tall, with a lean frame. His muscles were heavily muscled. His scaly brown skin faded to a lighter shade on his belly and chest. His hair-like appendages, unlike those of typical predators, were located on the sides of his head under a crest, but instead were centered and gathered into a ponytail. He had bright yellow eyes with green flecks and black sclera. The claws on his hands and feet were also black. He wore a simple black tunic with ragged sleeves and hem, over which he wore light armor that covered his groin and chest, and metal shoulder pads. Another distinctive feature was a single broken tooth on his left lower mandible.
