You had been Russia's girlfriend for over seven years. You had to leave the country for work. It was four years in which you couldn't see him, but you always kept in touch: the messages were never lacking.

Finally, after so much waiting, your contract ended and you no longer needed to work at that design company in France. You decided to return just in time for her birthday because you wanted to surprise her.

It was a five-hour trip to your city. Luckily for you, Russia's sister was helping you. She took him to a restaurant where they would celebrate his birthday, while you were supposed to arrive as a surprise.

You went first to your apartment —the one you shared with him—, left your suitcases, took a shower, got ready and finally left for the restaurant.

He was in a bad mood, and his face showed it. They were singing "Las Mañanitas" to him when, suddenly, you appeared behind him with a cake in your hands, singing along too.

At first, he stood completely still, unsure how to react. Then he jumped up and turned to face you. You handed the cake to your sister-in-law and turned to congratulate him, but you didn't get a chance to say anything: he rushed towards you, hugged you tightly, lifted you in his arms, and showered you with kisses, so excited was he to see you.
