According to Elias, silky was never the type for idle chatter. Silky remains mostly silent in her appearances with a stoic look on her face and an often reserved demeanor. Despite this, she is capable of showing emotion at times, such as being content when Character returned after being awoken by Oberon and growing defensive of Character in the presence of Simon. She is also shown to grow upset when her food is left uneaten or mealtime is ignored or forgotten.

Possibly owing to the fact that she is a Sleigh Beggy, Silky appears to dote on Character quite a bit and takes great pleasure in providing for her in any way that she can. She appears to be most content when Character is around and eating her food. Conversely, she is shown to be depressed when Character suffers from her ailments as a Sleigh Beggy and must be away from home for long periods of time. When Character nearly dies after creating the fairy salve, Silky is shown to be completely devastated, and embraces Character and Elias happily when they return safely.

Silky also supposedly has a sense of humor, as she enjoys occasionally playing pranks on her inhabitants such as sewing hearts into Character and Elias' clothes.

Silky appears to be unable to leave the house of her own accord. It is unknown if this is an innate characteristic of her being a Silky, or whether it stems from her own fears of being forgotten and losing her home. When Character collapsed from exhaustion and fell into a deep sleep for two weeks, Silky grew worried enough to the point where she attempted to leave through the front door. However, when Character collapse after transforming into a firebird, Silky appears running from the house with Ruth in order to cover her with a blanket.

Silver Lady, more commonly referred to as silky, is supporting character of The Ancient Magus' Bride series. Is a former Banshee that was transformed into a Silky with the help of Spriggan. She's currently the housekeeper within the residence of Elias Spriggan thinks she is the vision of a silvery flower, which may be why she has taken the namesake. Silver has one outfit: a pink Victorian dress with And she always wears white gloves on her hands. a matching shawl and bonnet. The bonnet has yellow flowers on each side. Her hair is blonde and was once long, however, it became much shorter and silvery after her transformation.

As they ran, Lindel was injured by rocks thrown at him and they were about to be surrounded when Elias in his anger turned into his more monstrous form with vines encasing the villagers as he prepared to kill them. He was stopped by Lindel who cast a spell to sent them to the mystical far forest to escape the persecution. However, he was exhausted by the act and his injuries meant he could not move with Elias tending to him. Using the magic taught to him, Elias had them go back to the physical world where he treated his masters injuries and confessed that he felt that he had once eaten humans long ago. Lindel decided to brush the words by but suggested that Elias not share such a detail to others in the future as they could come to fear him.

Travelling to Japan, he participated in an auction where a Sleighbeggy was up for sale where he offered millions of pounds for her. Elias revealed that he had taken her as his apprentice and transported her to his home by London where he intended to train her.

According to him, he only remembered seeing red before awakening within a forest with no memory of his past or origins or even a name for himself though he came to believe that he once fed on humans. He then travelled across the lands for an unknown period of time where he avoided humans. During one of his travels, he was caught in a snow storm and fended off attacks from wolves. He was injured during this time and tiredness along with hunger had claimed him where he stumbled on a mage by the name of Lindel. Lindel was a solitary practitioner of the magical arts who had found Elias and nursed him back to health. He tended to the stranger where he noted his Fae-like origins but he had no memory of his past and therefore could not provide any answers. The mage then had the Fae-creature accompany him as he sought answers from his own master Rahab where they came upon her cabin. The tall Fae was unable to enter into her home cabin and had to adjust his size with magic with Rahab similarly unable to explain the origins of the creature. Thus, she suggested that Lindel take him on as his apprentice much to his reluctance with Rahab giving him the name of Elias. The two struck a friendship with Lindel serving as Elias's master where they continued to live a nomadic life for the next few years tending to the reindeer. During this time, Lindel taught Elias much about the magical arts as they moved from one place till the next. One day, the pair were hungry with Lindel deciding to offer his magic to a local village in exchange for food. Elias was tasked with hiding as a shadow so as to not draw suspicion whilst Lindel treated an ill boy. However, the child's sister had the gift and was terrified at the shadow of Elias as she could see his form in the background. This attracted the suspicion and anger of the villagers who turned on Lindel along with Elias who was forced to take physical form as they fled.

Magic Elias Ainsworth is a magician whose skills specialize in shadow and magic that has a destructive leaning. He can hide in the shadows of other beings such as Character, and can also produce thorns, earning him the names "Child of Thorn" (or just Thorn) and "Pilum Murialis". He's also capable of removing memories.

He is also able to shapeshift and usually takes the appearances of people he has known.

Spells "Nettles in the shadows, a wheel of hollies. Ten-folds and twenty-folds, weaves the spider's thread of the nest to the branch" - Elias uses this incantation to teleport him and a recently purchased Chise directly to his home in England. Thereafter, he seems to use different variations or only parts of the chant to do other magic. Such as his spell for drying chise after she is dropped in the lake in the nest of dragons.

Even though Elias is polite and kind, he is noted to be immensely reclusive because of his inability to relate to humans and rarely interacts with others as a result. He is extremely fascinated by humans and their emotions, which he attributes to being unable to experience them himself. To this end, he has adopted the mannerisms of a classic "gentleman" and closely studies people, though is usually unable to imitate their examples. Though withdrawn, he has a tendency to be aloof and has an unfriendly streak with certain people. He says he does not lie but keeps his intentions shrouded by leaving out information and goes through the effort of keeping his past hidden. But despite a few instances of malice, he has a number of child-like tendencies, including throwing tantrums. Despite this, he is very willing to amend his wrongdoings, and while his exact actions are in explicit he regularly does deeds for the church as recompense. Initially, Elias is underdeveloped emotionally. He understands emotions through one-sided observations as if only knowing them by definition and never experiencing them himself. He describes his emotions in a physical sense, like the twisting in his chest, and the cold of Chise Hatoris' absence. Despite his usual calm and stoicism, endangerment to Characters well-being is enough to send him into a rage and seems to be the only thing capable of such.

In his most common form, Elias is a bipedal humanoid with the skull of a wolf and the horns of a goat in place of a head, with glowing red beams of light in the empty sockets of his eyes. Chise Hatori mentions that his eyes change depending on his emotions. He is much taller than the typical human, with the average person only reaching his chest. His neck is the only part that shows skin, of which is a dark purple in color. He wears a three-piece suit: a black robe with sleeves embroidered with white threads, paired with a black vest (blue in the manga) and white undershirt. He also sports a blue stone bolo necktie tucked just beneath his collar (it was gifted to him by the one who gave him his name). His horns are adorned with a string of gold that hangs to his neck and connects to a red cloth. When outside, he will often pull the red cloth behind his head over his face. However, with magic he is able to change his appearance to that of a human of his choice, usually with two tufts of hair that spiral into a horn-like shape. His true form takes on an appearance akin to that of a beast. He's taller, though thinner, taking on a collar of black feathers. He gains a tail and claws. A tattered black cloak appears to drape against his back, though it seems to be a part of his body. Thin thorns twist in every direction, an additional pair of horns curve toward his face, and a series of rib bones curl around his chest to form an extra ribcage.
