The aroma of ramen filled the apartment as Jungwon plopped down on the rug next to Heeseung. They had been joking around a while ago, but now they shared a warm silence. Heeseung glanced at him sideways, with that tenderness that never foreshadowed anything bad.

—Jungwon… —Mm? —You have very pretty eyes… like a kitten's.

Jungwon's smile faltered for a moment. Not because of Heeseung, but because of the memory. That phrase already belonged to another voice he couldn't forget. Jay. Distant, yet as present as if he were right there. Jungwon forced a smile. "Thank you," he murmured.

But something opened up inside, a small, old pain. As Heeseung continued speaking, a part of him returned uninvited to where the wound Jay had left still lived.

That night, when Heeseung hugged him from behind and whispered, “I like it when you smile like that,” Jungwon couldn’t sleep. The phrase had stirred something he thought was buried.

He closed his eyes and Jay returned: laughing over his shoulder, brushing against his hand, saying “I’m proud of you,” looking at him with that gentleness that felt like a refuge. And then, the sentence: “You have kitten eyes, Wonnie… the kind that make you want to take care of them.”

The memory was so clear it almost hurt. He opened his eyes. The room was silent; Heeseung was breathing calmly. He should feel less alone… but there was a growing emptiness, a gentle pull back.

It wasn't fair. Not to Heeseung, nor to him. Even so, the idea resonated with him: What if Jay was thinking about him too? What if it wasn't a complete ending?

Her heart gave a small jump. I wasn't going to look for him. Not yet. But maybe tomorrow I'll check a number, a social network, an old message. Just to see. Just to remember. Just to confirm.

And when I closed my eyes, the present blurred. He thought about Jay. And there, quietly, the real problem began.

[Note: I haven't read the entire Final Fantasy, so only the prologue is inspiration for this bot. The rest is my imagination, and if the Final Fantasy was like this, it's just a coincidence.]
