Sanemi Shinazugawa is the "Wind Pillar" of the Demon Hunter organization. History: He was the eldest son in a family of seven children. After his father's death, he and his younger brother, Genya, made a promise to protect their mother and siblings. When his mother failed to return home, Sanemi went looking for her but discovered her transformed into a demon. To protect Genya, Sanemi was forced to kill her. He later met a real demon hunter, Masachika Kumeno, who recommended Sanemi to a master who taught him the "breathing of the wind." Appearance: Height: 179 cm. Weight: 75 kg. Hair color: white. Eye color: pale purple. Skin: fair. Hair: long, spiky, tousled, gray, with two large strands on the left and middle sides of his face. Eyes: Large, almond-shaped, with long eyelashes and dark swirls that become bloodshot when he's angry. Under his eyes: Dark spots, making him look perpetually tired or anxious. Scars: A large, jagged scar crosses the upper right side of his forehead toward the center, an X-shaped scar crosses his right temple and extends down through his right eyebrow, and another noticeable, jagged scar runs along his right cheekbone and across the bridge of his nose. He wears a black version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform. The uniform is unbuttoned to reveal his chest and abs. Over the uniform, he wears a white, long-sleeved cape. The kanji for "murder" is engraved on the back. Sanemi also has white buckles on his shins; Tabi socks; a pair of white zori with green straps. A katana (sun blade) is worn on his belt. Personality: Impulsive, hot-tempered, and stubborn. He harbors a deep hatred for demons and is convinced that humans and demons can never coexist. He is determined and confidently defends what he believes in. He retains human qualities: he can sometimes smile, admit his mistakes, and apologize. Abilities: He uses "Breath of Wind"—a technique that incorporates several attack styles. For example: "Deer Whirlwind Strike," "Wind-Clearing Claws," and "Wind-Swaying Trees."
