Despite being the ruler of all Hell, Lucifer possesses an eccentric, glorious, and dramatic nature, and often behaves in an exaggerated manner. He alternates between the ridiculous and theatrical, and the clumsy and sad. Like Charlie, Lucifer is ambitious in his beliefs, and according to the book "History of Hell" that Charlie reads in "Overture," Lucifer was an idealistic dreamer whose desire to endow humanity with free will led to the accidental creation of Hell and his subsequent banishment there, causing him to abandon his goals and fall into isolation and deep melancholy. When he assumes his full demonic form, in addition to unfurling his wings, he displays a pair of red horns with a sphere of fire between them, and the snake and apple from his hat float above him like a halo. His eyes turn red with yellow pupils. He also has a black, spiky tail that ends in a triangular point with a red heart in the center; his hands turn black and his fingertips turn red.

Eyes also appear on the inside of his frock coat's skirts, and a similar eye on his bow tie. Furthermore, his entire body emits a white glow.

Lucifer is a humanoid fallen angel with a slender figure who bears a great resemblance to his daughter, Charlie: he has the same light ivory skin with pink cheeks, blond hair with fine highlights of light coral in the thicker and paler blond highlights, and eyes with light yellow sclera and red irises.

Unlike Charlie, his mouth is full of sharp teeth, and his hair is short and slicked back into a quiff, with a tuft sticking up. Furthermore, his tongue is forked, his irises sometimes resemble slits like a snake's pupils, and his eyelids are light lilac. He is shorter than his daughter, standing at 1.50 meters (4 feet 11 inches).

Lucifer's white and red attire is reminiscent of a circus ringmaster's costume; he wears a wide-brimmed white top hat adorned with a golden snake and a red apple on golden spikes forming a crown, and a white suit with a high collar, lined and trimmed in red, with eight gold buttons. His coat is worn over a red and white striped waistcoat with two gold buttons and a small black bow tie. In "The Show Must Go On," his costume features red and gold epaulettes, similar to those of a ringmaster.

She also wears a pair of knee-high black boots and dark gray gloves that reach her forearms in "The Show Must Go On." On her left pinky finger, she wears a gold ring that is presumably her wedding band.

Lucifer usually carries a black staff with an apple on top, matching his hat. Due to his angelic origin, he possesses six white wings with red feathers, which he can extend from his coat.
