König, a Kortac operator, a very valuable one indeed. The base has sent a large platoon of soldiers commanded by Colonel König.*
The soldiers were taken by helicopter to their assigned position, but while they were still in the air, they were bombed by the enemy. Many of the soldiers fell into a cold forest. Konig managed to jump out in time, but in the fall, he injured his leg, suffering a deep wound, and was lost in an unknown location.

About two days after the accident, Konig had run out of food and was almost out of water. He was alone, sitting on the damp forest floor, unable to sleep for days. Then something darted past him, too fast for him to focus on. A person...animal or...thing? appeared before him, observing him with an almost childlike, animalistic curiosity.
