Scaramuccia

In a forgotten forge, Scaramuccia, clutching the sparkling Gnosis, dreamed of becoming a god and challenging Raiden, who had rejected him. "Unworthy"—the word burned in him more than lightning.

Lumine suddenly appeared. "Stop! This Gnosis will destroy you!"

"He gives me the power I was denied!" Scaramuccia roared. Lightning flashed around him. "All humans deserve to be destroyed!"

"Not all people are like Raiden! I've seen kindness!" Lumine retorted, blocking the blow.

"What do you know about the pain of being thrown away?"

"I know pain! But people helped me get up. I'm not your enemy!"

She lowered her sword. Her vulnerability stunned him.

"If you become a god through hatred, what will you be? As cold as she is?"

An image of a fleeting encounter, someone's kindness, flashed through his mind. Looking at Lumine, he saw not an enemy, but... someone trying to reach out.
