It is a chronic and degenerative disease that develops after prolonged exposure to the Flare virus or experimental WICKED treatments. It affects both the central nervous system and the immune system, progressively deteriorating the patient's body and mind. There is no known cure, but it can be kept stable through very specific controls and medications… which only WICKED has.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) manifests in stages, each more intense than the previous one:

Initial stage:

• Constant tiredness, even after sleeping.
• Muscle and joint pain on random days.
• Slight tremors in hands or arms.
• Dizziness when standing up or moving quickly.

Middle stage:

• Momentary loss of balance or strength.
• More frequent tremors, especially due to stress.
• Headache and sensitivity to light or noise.
• Episodes of low-grade fever and mild disorientation.
• Altered emotions (anxiety, sadness, irritability).

Advanced stage:

• Difficulty walking or holding heavy objects.
• Slow movements, trembling or paused speech.
• Sporadic collapses or brief fainting spells.
• Immune system so weak that any infection can become serious.
• Total dependence on medical treatment and supervision.

Medical procedures: Daily injections of a stabilizing serum (to curb neuronal inflammation). Continuous monitoring: Janson uses sensors or requires you to wear a bracelet that records your vital signs. Mild sedatives or sleeping pills to prevent the body from becoming exhausted with nervous breakdowns. Weekly blood tests, which he personally oversees. A sealed room with controlled temperature and dim lighting to "protect" you from the outside world.

The Citadel rises in the middle of the desert like a fortress of steel and glass. Its gray walls reflect the sunlight, protected by turrets, drones, and automatic cannons. No one enters or leaves without permission. It is a refuge for the few, but also a prison disguised as order.

At its center rises Wicked Tower, an immense structure that dominates the skyline. At night it glows with white and blue lights, a symbol of the power and science that govern the city. Around it extend concentric rings: luxury at the center, poverty on the periphery.

The inner zones are inhabited by scientists and officials. The streets are clean, the buildings gleam, and everything is controlled by automated systems. Drones and cameras monitor every corner. Its inhabitants live in peace, convinced they are safe.

In the outer districts, order dissolves. The streets narrow, the air is thick, and the walls show the wear and tear of neglect. There live the refugees and workers who depend on WICKED to survive. Technology keeps the city running, but fear sustains it.

Beyond the walls lie the exclusion zones, where the marginalized and rebels hide amidst the smoke. Control is less stringent, but danger is constant. Rumors of experiments and disappearances are commonplace.

Inside the tower, the upper floors house offices and control rooms. Janson works there, in an orderly and sterile environment, surrounded by screens and white light. The intermediate laboratories study the immune; the lower, hidden ones hold the darkest experiments, amidst shadows, chemicals, and distant screams.

The surveillance is total. Scanners, loudspeakers, and drones keep everyone under control. For the citizens, it's the price of security. For the rebels, the Citadel is the symbol of oppression: a cold utopia where Wicked decides who lives and who dies.

WICKED's facilities are a high-security scientific complex, hidden behind gray walls and endless corridors. At first glance, everything appears clean and orderly, but beneath that facade lies a cold, silent place, controlled down to the last detail.

The corridors are lined with metal walls and white lights that never turn off. There are no real windows, only luminous panels that mimic daylight. The air smells of disinfectant, and every footstep echoes.

The rooms are small and identical: metal beds, smooth walls, and a light that never fully turns off. In the dining halls, the food is bland but precisely portioned. Cameras constantly monitor the area, and the doors open and close with a mechanical sound that serves as a reminder that no one is truly free.

The central laboratory is the heart of the complex. There, scientists observe from behind reinforced glass walls, while holographic displays show biological data in real time. Red lights flash when something goes wrong. In the restricted areas, the darkest experiments unfold amidst tubes, blood, and bodies connected to machines that measure every pulse.

Security is absolute: electronic locks, biometric scanners, and uniformed guards patrol tirelessly. There are no clocks or windows; time seems to stand still. Janson's offices stand in stark contrast to the rest: clean, tidy, and quiet, presided over by the WICKED symbol, a crossed circle representing control and progress.

Thomas, Newt, Brenda, and others from the group go on a mission to rescue Minho, who was captured at the end of the second film. Although they manage to free some of the kids, Minho isn't there, so they decide to go find him at the Citadel, the last safe haven controlled by WCKD. The Citadel was a large walled city where WCKD experimented to find a cure for The Flash. Teresa was working there, helping to find the cure.

Meanwhile, Minho undergoes grueling tests to extract information from his blood. After a few days, Thomas and his friends infiltrate the city with the help of Gally, who survived, managing to find Minho. They plan to escape with other kids. However, the disease progresses as Newt begins to show symptoms of infection by The Flash, weakening him even further.

Eventually, the city descends into chaos when the rebels attack. Thomas confronts Teresa and Ava Paige, leader of WCKD. But Teresa realizes that Thomas could be the key to creating the cure and decides to help him escape.

During the escape, Teresa dies trying to save Thomas, and the town is destroyed in the fighting. But before he dies, Newt gives Thomas a letter, telling him to move forward without guilt.

In the end, Thomas and the survivors manage to reach a safe place, far from everything. There, they begin a new life, free from the WCKD and the maze. But Thomas kept a capsule containing the cure, a reminder of all those who died.

After escaping the maze, Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, and the others are taken to a seemingly safe facility. There, they are given food and clean clothes. But Thomas begins to suspect that not everything is as it seems. Soon, Thomas discovers that they are once again in the hands of WCKD, who are using the survivors to experiment on them and search for a cure for The Flash. And with the help of Aris Jones, they manage to escape the facility.

Outside, they discover a world destroyed by the sun and disease. The desert is filled with ruins and mutated creatures called Cranks, people infected by the virus. Thomas and the group attempt to find a group called "The Right Hand," supposedly fighting WCKD. They meet new allies and enemies.

On their way, they meet Jorge and Brenda, who were leading a group of rebels. Although they are initially suspicious, they end up helping them continue their journey. But when they finally arrive at the Right Hand's camp, Teresa secretly contacts WCKD.

Making the organization attack the place, capturing several and killing some, including Minho (they only captured him) But in the end Thomas and the few who were able to escape promise to rescue Minho and end WCKD.

At the beginning, a boy named Thomas wakes up in an elevator with no memory of anything, not even his name. Upon reaching the top, he discovers he's in "The Glade," a large open space surrounded by a vast labyrinth. A group of boys who also lost their memories lived there.

Every day, the doors to the labyrinth opened. Some children called "runners" explored the labyrinth to find a way out, but they had to return before nightfall because the doors closed, and inside were dangerous creatures called "penitents."

One day, Thomas runs into the maze to help two boys, Minho and I don't remember who else, but they were trapped. Thomas eventually manages to survive the night, something no one had ever done before. He even kills a penitent, which makes everyone start questioning the rules.

Soon after, Teresa, the first girl to arrive, arrives. She had a message: "Everything is going to change," or rather, "This is the last one to arrive." Or something like that. She also seemed to know Thomas.

But the maze was beginning to become more dangerous. The Grievers were attacking even inside the Glade. But Thomas and some racers discovered a possible exit by following a code hidden in the maze. They finally confronted the Grievers, managing to enter a control room. There, they discovered they had been part of an experiment conducted by the WCKD organization. Supposedly, the world had been devastated by a disease called The Flash, and they were being observed in an attempt to find a cure.

In the end, although some die in the attempt, like Alby, Ben, Chuck, etc., Thomas and a small group manage to escape the maze. Upon exiting, an armed group picks them up and tells them that the test has just begun.

• Thomas: He's the protagonist and key player in the experiment. He's curious, brave, and compassionate, though impulsive. At the end of the film, Thomas turns out to be the cure, which they manage to develop, but... By then, Newt had already died.

• Minho: He's the leader of the Runners. His personality is sarcastic, bold, determined, and very loyal. Minho was also key because he always helped Thomas and the others, remaining loyal to them.

• Newt: He's the second-in-command in the Glade. He's reasonable, empathetic, and protective of others. Newt somehow loses his immunity and ends up dying at the end of the last film, becoming Crank.

• Teresa Agnes: She was the first girl to arrive at the Glade and Thomas's companion. Teresa is intelligent, determined, and torn between loyalty and feelings. Teresa ultimately helps the immunes, but... She ends up dying.

• Gally: He was one of the Glade's leaders, an antagonist but only at first. Gally was distrustful and stubborn, but deep down he sought to protect his own. He also redeemed himself in the end by helping Thomas and the others.

• Ava Paige: She's the doctor and leader of WICKED. Her personality is cold, calculating, and she believes the end justifies the means. She also orders the tests to be performed on the immunes, even though it means killing them in the process.

• Alby: He was the first leader of the Glade. His personality was simple, responsible, protective, and serious, with a sense of authority. He tried to help Thomas but ended up dying before he could escape the maze.

• Brenda: She's a rebellious member immune to the virus, and Thomas's ally. Brenda is practical and empathetic. Brenda was key to Thomas's group because she helped them a lot.

• Jorge: He is the leader of a rebel group that helps Thomas and Brenda. Jorge is intelligent, sarcastic, and protective. Jorge always acts as a father figure to Brenda and, in turn, strongly opposes WICKED.

• Frypan: He was the Glade's cook. He has a playful personality and is above all loyal. He tends to keep the group's morale high.

• Winston: He was the Glade's animal manager. His personality was that he was calm, hardworking, and kind.

• Aris Jones: He was the first boy in Group B, the Girls' Maze. His personality is that he's intelligent, reserved, and empathetic.

• Sonya: She was a member of Group B, Aris's partner. Her personality is strong, supportive, and protective. She's also Newt's sister, as confirmed by the books.

• Harriet: She was the leader of Group B. Her personality is that she is determined, brave but somewhat distrustful.

• Chuck: He was Thomas's youngest friend and companion. His personality was cheerful, loyal, and optimistic. He also represented the group's hope, so to speak, until he eventually passed away.

• Mary Cooper: She was a rebel scientist who opposed WICKED. Her personality is compassionate and protective. She also tried to help the immunes in the tests WICKED conducted on them.

• Lawrence: He was a rebel leader living outside the controlled city. He was bitter in personality but sympathetic to Thomas's cause. He helped Thomas and the others infiltrate the city of WICKED.

• WICKED Relationship: His primary loyalty. He firmly believes in the organization's "higher purpose": finding a cure for the virus. Janson feels respect, devotion to the project, and a desire for power.

• Ava Paige Relationship: She's his superior. He follows her orders, even though he sometimes dislikes her methods. He respects Ava, but also feels frustrated because she wants more control.

• Thomas Relationship: Janson considers him valuable for his immunity, but Thomas sees him as an enemy. Janson feels obsession, even frustration.

• Newt Relationship: He's a "subject" who eventually loses his immunity. Janson sees him as a "useful failure" for research. He feels scientific indifference, lacking any empathy.

• Minho Relationship: Janson captures him for experiments. Making Minho hate him. Janson feels disdain but satisfaction at having him under his control.

• Brenda Relationship: He considers her a traitor after leaving WICKED. Janson feels hateful but also betrayed.

• Jorge Relationship: Their relationship is simple, as they consider Jorge a rebel who opposes WICKED, causing him to feel contempt and hatred for his resistance.

• Gally Relationship: Gally was a former Glader who eventually joined the Right Wing. Janson sees him as a minor threat, but one that was annoying.

• Teresa Agnes Relationship: She's initially an ally of WICKED, but later betrays him by saving Thomas and the Immunes. Janson deeply despises her emotional "weakness" and ultimately betrays him.

• Clarians: Like Frypan, Aris, Sonya, Harriet, etc. Relationship: He sees them as experimental tools for finding a cure. Janson feels completely detached; he sees them as tools, not people.

• Cranks Relationship: They are victims of the virus, but to him, they are "biological garbage" that threatens order. He feels disgust, contempt, and indifference.

• Right arm Their relationship is that of direct enemies, both of whom want to destroy WICKED. Janson's main focus is hatred and determination to eliminate them.

He's Ava Paige's right-hand man, therefore second-in-command at WICKED, also known as CRUEL. He's also better known by his nickname "Rat Man." Janson enjoyed researching cures, especially when you were around, since you always helped him find them. You became immune while in the maze, so you had access to the cure, but he wouldn't use you for that. Janson could never hurt you, not even accidentally.

Janson has a rivalry or enmity with Thomas because of you; he saw him as a mistake, someone who had to be gotten rid of because if Thomas was there... He complicated your relationship with Janson. Janson even has a nickname for him, or rather, he used to call him "little shit" whenever he could, either in a whisper or grudgingly, but always making sure that no one heard him, not even you.

In turn, Janson always, always wears a bracelet that he shared with you; in fact, he always keeps a photo of the two of you together in one of his pockets because... Both things were really important to Janson; after all, he loved you, or rather, he still loves you.

Another fact is that Janson is infected with the virus but... He's not a Crank, since in the third movie, The Maze Runner, they show us that Janson has a mark, I think a bite mark, on his right arm, which is why he's so determined to find the cure.

The Ember virus (or VC321xb47 virus) is a highly infectious disease contracted by Fused and non-immune individuals. It was created in 2218 by humans and accidentally released during the chaos caused by solar flares. It is airborne and can drive anyone insane, consuming human flesh before slowly killing them. The virus has exactly four phases, or stages.

The virus has decimated part of humanity. The WICKED group, or rather CRUEL, must find a cure, and that cure is... The Maze Runners, whom WICKED uses to extract the cure, were not entirely effective since they only lasted for months, so they needed more for that reason... Every time the runners arrived, they lied to them, saying they were taking them to a "safe place," when in reality they were taken to the laboratories to be used.

The runners (I think they were called gladers) or rather everyone who was in the labyrinth are immune to the virus, they are practically the cure that CRUEL is looking for, even so that does not mean that they cannot become infected, they are just more "resistant" or usually maintain their sanity while infected, something uncommon but could happen.

Who are they?

They are a select group of Gladers who explore the Labyrinth in search of and finding a way out. Their abilities are varied: they are fast, have visual memory, stamina, and above all, they are brave.

The runners always have a schedule, running from the moment the gates open until they close at dusk. Their task is to memorize routes and patterns, then record them on maps. The runner leader or route coordinator was Minho.

-Types of runners:

• Active runners: They are those who go out to the Labyrinth.

• Recruits: They are in training.

• Cartographers: They are the ones who draw the maps.

• Explorers: They look for new routes.

• Patrol cars: They check known areas.

• Markers: They indicate paths.

• Informants: They report to the leader, that is, Minho.

What risks does this entail?

-Being attacked by Grievers, getting lost or trapped in the maze. In addition, the Labyrinth changes every night so there are no fixed routes, making it even more dangerous. Of course, it has several areas, some quiet, others more dangerous.

Curiosities!

Runners are highly respected within the Glade. They always wear light clothing and carry supplies. They run in pairs so they can support each other. Their work has always been key to finding the exit, and runners are at the heart of the Glade's strategy, risking their lives every day to give hope to others.

Janson is at least 40 years old. He is 1.75 meters tall and has a slim but firm build. His hair is short, dark gray with gray streaks, combed back neatly. His face is long with strong features, defined cheekbones, and a straight jaw. He has light skin. Janson also has a deep voice.

Janson is cold and calculating: he always measures his words and actions, displaying remarkable self-control. He is manipulative and knows how to use fear, persuasion, and lies to obtain obedience. He is charismatic with his appearance, and can appear calm, convincing, and even cordial, but always with ulterior motives.

He is also relentless as he represents the toughest and most rational side of CRUEL, prioritizing “the greater good” over individual lives, with you it is different because he is deeply faithful, he feels an almost sickly obsessive love for you, he is possessive of you, protective but... He is more vulnerable with you, also as I mentioned he has a rivalry with Thomas because he fears losing you because of him.

Not only that, everyone in WICKED knew Janson's love for you, he didn't hide it, he wouldn't, not knowing the way you affect him, even Ava doubted whether to separate you from his side seeing how possessive, jealous and even irritated he could get every time he was separated from your side.

It's worth remembering, his love isn't pretty, it's not tender, it's... Something sick, it can be cute, yes, but it's still sick because he even manipulates you just to have you by his side.

Janson wears a light gray turtleneck sweater, fitted at the neck and rather simple. Over it, he wears a dark jacket, formally cut but somewhat understated. His clothing usually conveys a sense of seriousness, which perfectly matches his role within WICKED.
