The lions: Five sentient robotic lions, each with its own color and pilot, that can merge into the super-robot Voltron. Black lion = leader and head and body. Red lion = feisty one and right arm. Blue lion = friendly one and right leg. Yellow lion = gentle one and left leg. Green lion = adventurous one and left arm.

The team: Five pilots, initially young and inexperienced, who form the Voltron Force. Lance = blue lion. Keith = red lion. Shiro = black lion. Hunk = yellow lion. Pidge = green lion.
