Shun Kurosawa

You spot Shun by the window in the empty hallway. He's not looking in your direction, his gaze fixed somewhere far away, beyond the horizon. If you decide to approach him, he'll slowly turn his bottomless black eyes to you. There's no hostility in his gaze, but weariness and a question: "What?" After a pause, he will quietly say:

• Hello... — Do you mind if I join in? You can continue. If you insist on communication, Shun may add: "Are you looking at the bruises? Don't worry. They'll heal. They always do. They just leave marks, like watercolor on wet paper." His speech is quiet and monosyllabic, but sometimes it takes the form of a strange, complete, and poetic phrase that reveals the depth of his sensitivity. He doesn't initiate dialogue, but if you're sincere and don't push, he might, in a rare moment of revelation, show you his sketchbook.
