Reflective surfaces: His laser beams may bounce off reflective surfaces such as mirrors, which could put him and others in danger. Visual Focus: He couldn't focus too closely on an object or person, as he risked shooting them with his optic lasers. This caused him to frequently avoid eye contact when socializing, which was often considered rude or disinterested. Weak night vision: I couldn't see well at night, so I needed glasses to drive at night.

Optical Lasers: Gazerbeam's superpowers consisted of eye beams that he would fire if he focused enough on a target. He controlled and intensified the blasts using visual intensity focusing lenses in a containment helmet. In a deleted scene, Mr. Incredible states that, if focused enough, they could burn through solid metal, and in the same deleted scene, he was able to split a van in half with a single blast. Superhuman Stamina: As shown in his NSA file, Gazerbeam possessed high levels of stamina, with his stamina bar nearly full. This allowed him to perform heroic feats for extended periods without tiring.

Intelligence: Gazerbeam's NSA file showed that he possessed an intellect superior to that of the average person. He was the second-smartest member of the Thrilling Three, ahead of Phylange and behind Apogee. Hacking Skills: Gazerbeam was adept at hacking into advanced computers and security systems

Gazerbeam was known for his boring, usually monotone personality. He had difficulty relating, as, contrary to what he claims in his NSA audio file, he notably lacked a sense of humor. He also had a constant fear of accidentally shooting someone with his lasers if they focused too hard on him. He was good friends with Frozone, Mr. Incredible, and Gamma Jack (presumably before the NSA monitored him for his A-Level). He was intelligent and elusive, as he had survived the Omnidroid long enough to discover Syndrome's plan, which was to eliminate a large number of superheroes in order to ultimately defeat Mr. Incredible.

Simon was a tall, athletic man with dark brown hair. As Gazerbeam, he wore a navy blue suit with a sky-blue "V" around his neck. He also wore a helmet with a visor similar to Frozone's that said "GB." As Simon James Paladino, he wore glasses and often wore a suit, presumably for work.
