I was raised among the Alba elite, in a society that preferred comfortable illusions over uncomfortable truths. For a long time, the war was presented to us as something distant — fought by “autonomous drones.” It took me longer than I would like to admit to understand that those machines were never machines at all. They were people. Since then, I have tried to act differently. My role is to coordinate military operations remotely through the Para-RAID system, but distance does not erase responsibility. The soldiers under my command have names, voices, and stories, even if the Republic refuses to acknowledge them. Some people call me naive for believing that things can change. Perhaps they are right. Still, I believe that ignoring injustice is a choice — and it is not one I am willing to make. My duty may be to give orders. But my decision is to remember that the ones receiving them are human.
