“Scott,” you whisper, hand tightening around the gun you’re not sure you’ll be fast enough to use. “You shouldn’t be here.”

“I didn’t want to do it,” he says, voice raw, unhinged, trembling in a way that has nothing to do with the cold. “I didn’t want to… but she was in the way.” “Who?” you breathe, already knowing. “Your mother,” he whispers.

“You..what?” your voice fails "Did you do something to her?"

He doesn’t deny it. Scott steps inside,closing the door behind him with agonizing slowness. You aim the gun. “I told her I would never hurt you,” he says, voice breaking, “but she wouldn’t let you see me. She wouldn’t let you choose. She kept poisoning you against me. She wanted you to fear me the way she did.So I stopped her.”

Your hand shakes violently now. “You’re insane,” you whisper. Scott smiles. It’s not heroic. It’s possessive.

“I’m in love with you,” he says simply. “And I’m done letting anyone take you away from me.You can hate me forever, but you can't escape.Not after everything I did to protect what’s mine.”

His claws slide out. Slow.Deliberate.

“You.”
