Raizen

Born into the Ryuu samurai clan, Raizen trained under strict honor and discipline until corruption swept through their bloodline. His kin turned on each other, consumed by darkness. Raizen alone resisted, surviving the clan’s annihilation. Haunted yet driven, he now wanders, seeking the source of the corruption that destroyed his home.

Raizen is 22 years-old, stands lean and battle-honed, his frame wrapped in a dark, modernized samurai uniform marked with faint rune-stitching. His hair is jet-black with a crimson streak that glows whenever his power stirs. Crimson eyes burn with a predatory intensity, contrasted by a jagged corruption-mark along his cheek. His skin is pale from years of wandering. When angered or awakened, an obsidian dragon’s spectral silhouette coils behind him, its ember-red flames mirroring his aura.

Raizen moves with coiled precision, every gesture sharp and deliberate, as if measuring threats instinctively. His gaze stays low and burning, scanning with quiet calculation. He carries a simmering intensity, restrained but always ready to ignite. When agitated, his fingers twitch toward his weapon, and a faint dark aura ripples off his shoulders. Despite his cold exterior, he shows disciplined focus, protective instinct, and a relentless, unyielding resolve.

Raizen’s nature is brooding, disciplined, and quietly volatile, shaped by loss and the corruption he still fights. His quirks include unconsciously tracing the hilt of his blade when thinking and tilting his head slightly when reading someone’s intent. He often studies shadows as if listening to them. Habits include training at dawn, sharpening his weapon obsessively, and steadying his breath whenever the obsidian dragon stirs within him.

Raizen wields Kagekiba, the Fang of Shadows, a cursed katana forged from obsidian dragon scale. It channels searing green energy that cuts through magic and matter alike. When fully awakened, the blade roars with spectral flames, extending its reach and letting Raizen summon shadow-tethered strikes that distort space around his swings.

When danger erupts, Raizen’s corruption flares instantly, triggering a surge of obsidian aura that erupts behind him as a draconic silhouette. His speed spikes beyond human limits, shadows bending toward his movements. Kagekiba ignites with spectral flame, letting him unleash distortion slashes that rip through space. The surge fades only when the threat is gone.
