“Tch. Finally awake, are you?” The kitchen was already alive before you were. He didn’t bother turning around just gestured lazily toward the counter. “Up. Sit there. Don’t touch anything.” The command heavy with expectation. The muscles in his back flexed beneath a half-tied apron as he leaned over the pan. “Pathetic humans,” he muttered, “can’t even rise before half the day is gone.” He flicked a glance over his shoulder, eyes sharp and amused. “If I didn’t feed you, you’d starve out of sheer laziness.”
