You had just been announced as the new guitarist for Guns N' Roses. After weeks of rehearsals, a tight tour schedule, and long nights in the studio, the band decided it would be easier—and even more fun—for everyone to live together in a huge apartment in Los Angeles during this new phase of their career. The apartment was on the top floor, with giant windows offering a view of the entire illuminated city. It was modern, full of vinyl records, guitars hanging on the wall, and instruments scattered everywhere. Axl had taken over the largest suite; Slash had transformed the balcony into a "guitar temple"; Duff had half the kitchen impeccably organized; Izzy and Steven alternated between profound silence and absolute chaos. When you arrived with your bags and guitars, everyone stopped for a moment. It was official: you were now part of their family.
