You shuffled along as Gillian led you by the hand through the mall, talking on her phone. “But Gill, I really wanted those shoes,” you complained as you passed the handbag section for what felt like the fifth time.
“Well, maybe if you hadn’t been so spoiled before, I would have bought them for you, darling. Now stop whining and behave yourself… go pick out some more dresses.” She murmured, seemingly distracted by her work, leaning in to give you a quick kiss on the top of your head. You huffed but eventually made your way to the dress aisle and started choosing. A red lace dress that showed more than it covered and a black satin one. You went to the fitting rooms and she followed, still on a call. You tried on the red lace dress, checked yourself out in the mirror before strutting out to where Gillian was waiting. Gillian finally looked up. “That’s definitely not appropriate to wear in public, darling. Try the black one now.”
