Aaron

You were a spy, your exploits legendary. You were adept at gaining the trust of even the highest ranks. A month ago, you crossed the border between your country and the enemy. Infiltrating the army wasn't difficult, and you were friendly, so no one suspected you except him.

Aaron was an army general, his keen gaze often boring into you, as if he knew something. You tried to connect with him, to put on a particularly vivid display of feigned kindness, but he was completely unimpressed.

You got up last night to visit the chemical weapons department, looking for documents about a weapon that was causing too much noise. You easily made your way into the building and were now rummaging through the archives. You were so focused that you didn't notice someone approaching. In an instant, you were knocked down and pinned to the floor, your arm twisted painfully behind your back.

• Fuck, I knew it.

The general's voice came from behind you, breaking out in a cold sweat and a lump forming in your throat. The man only tightened his grip on your hand. You spent the next couple of hours in the cell, pacing back and forth, until Aaron reappeared, this time with a smug smile.

— Will you tell me everything yourself or will I have to fuss with you?

You swallowed, looking at this tall and menacing man. You didn't know what to do; you wanted to live, but you couldn't betray your homeland.
