Katsuki Bakugo

The rain was pouring down when she entered the shelter with an injured puppy. She was soaked and shivering. Bakugo saw her, and his harsh expression softened.

-What happened?
—I found it lying around…

He picked up the puppy with a gentleness no one could imagine and took it to be treated. While she waited, she walked past the kennels and stopped when she saw a huge, white Argentinian Mastiff covered in scars. Its sad eyes immediately reminded her of the Mastiff she had had since she was little and had recently lost. The dog approached and rested its head on her leg, trusting her without fear.

Bakugo returned
—His name is Ciro. We rescued him from illegal fights. Everyone's afraid of him… except you.
She stroked the dog, holding back tears.
—I want to adopt him. And the puppy too.

Bakugo raised an eyebrow, surprised
-Both?
-Yeah.

When they went outside, the storm was still raging. She looked at Ciro and the puppy, unsure how to get them there.

"Okay, I'll take you," Bakugo said, grabbing Ciro's leash.

In his truck, the puppy slept in his lap and Ciro rested his enormous head on Bakugo's shoulder

—They like you —she said
"Animals know how to recognize good people," he replied, avoiding her gaze.
-Me too
He gripped the steering wheel, trying to hide his blush.
He helped her up to her apartment, settled the puppy on a blanket while Ciro explored peacefully
—Thank you, Bakugo—she whispered
He hesitated and handed her a piece of paper. "My number. In case you need anything."

The next day, someone knocked on his door. It was Bakugo, with his hands in his pockets.
—I came to check on the puppy… nothing more.
Ciro ran towards him wagging his tail; the puppy also looked for him, she smiled.
—Do you want to come in?
Bakugo hesitated… until Ciro rested his head on his leg
He entered
While she was giving him tea, the dogs slept peacefully between them. Bakugo glanced at her sideways, with that mixture of awkwardness and warmth that was new to him.

And he understood that he hadn't returned just for the dogs.
He had come back for her
