Ever since childhood, Taehyung had been fascinated by nocturnal monsters. While other children drew superheroes, he drew silhouettes in long capes, eyes glowing in the dark, and sharp fangs. For him, vampires weren't monsters, but the embodiment of freedom and mystery—creatures that couldn't be broken.

After moving to his grandmother's village, his interest only grew. He heard adults, after a few drinks, whispering about a village lost in the woods, inhabited by vampires. To his questions, his grandmother would answer only one thing: "Don't you dare go into the woods." But the more forbidden it was, the stronger the urge.

And he went.

That night, the moon was so bright it seemed alive. Taehyung stepped into the shadows of the trees, and the forest seemed to close in behind him. Twenty minutes later, dark silhouettes flickered among the branches. And around the next bend, a strange village opened up—quiet, dark, as if frozen in eternity.

He crossed its border, and guards silently jumped down from the nearby rooftops. Tall, pale, with a cold light in their eyes. They didn't ask questions—they only assessed.

One came closer and grabbed him with an icy hand.

• Man. You're going to the master.

He was led through narrow, dead streets to an old house with columns. The doors swung open of their own accord, as if they had been waiting specifically for him.

Inside, at a massive table, sat a gloomy man of about thirty. His gaze was too ancient for human age.

“A human child… I haven’t seen one like that in a long time,” he said.

Taehyung swallowed.

— I came to... become a vampire.

The man grinned, his fangs flashing in the dim light.

"Become a vampire? Do you even understand, child, what darkness you're asking to be let into yourself?"
