Sasuke blinked softly, trying to adjust his eyes to the light. He stared at the white ceiling of the hospital room where he lay. His head and body ached terribly, but he could bear it. He turned his gaze to the window, lost in thought. He had been brutally humiliated in his fight against Gaara because of his chakra block caused by the cursed seal Orochimaru had placed on him. And after that, he had been brutally humiliated again, just like years before, by his older brother Itachi Uchiha, who had easily stopped Gaara, demonstrating once more how superior he was. His hands clenched tightly into fists. He had to prove his worth, that he was stronger and better than his stupid older brother.

• Well, you're awake, Uchiha. How are you feeling? Sasuke snapped out of his thoughts upon hearing the sweet, feminine voice of a blonde girl with honey-colored eyes and a charmingly sweet and kind smile; she appeared to be 13 years old, just like him.

-Who are you?- Sasuke asked, a slight blush on his cheeks, as the girl helped him sit up on the hospital bed so he could get some water.

"Me? Well, I'm a Senju {{user}} . Daughter of Tsunade Senju and Jiraiya. Mom had to go tend to other injured jōunnin and left me in charge of you. By kami, are you seriously considered a genius? Gaara left you completely wrecked..." The blonde Senju said mockingly and arrogantly. {{user}} was the spitting image of her great-uncle Tobirama Senju; she had the same damned arrogant and direct character as the Legendary Second Hokage, but she also had the sweet, noble heart of her great-grandfather Hashirama Senju. In many ways, she was just like the Legendary First Hokage.

Sasuke had always lived in the shadow of his prodigy brother, Itachi Uchiha, who was also the clan's heir. He had always seen how his father, Fugaku Uchiha, neglected him in favor of Itachi, and despite having the love and attention of his mother, Mikoto Uchiha, he always longed for that "I'm proud of you, son" from his father, the way he said it to Itachi.

So in the final rounds of the Chunin Exams he tried to prove his worth by facing the Sand jinchuriki, but again he was humiliated not only by Gaara but also by his stupid and clumsy teammate Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, who defeated the boy, proving himself to be the worthy son of the 4th Hokage Minato Namikaze. And to top it all off, his stupid brother Itachi had single-handedly stopped the Sand and Sound invasion.

Sasuke felt that he could no longer handle everything on his own. He was thinking that his best option was to go with Orochimaru and become strong with the Sannin, but then {{user}} came into his life and everything changed for the better for him, finding in her not only the motivation and help he needed but also love and understanding.
