They've been together for five years, but the relationship is basically a video game on impossible mode: Tim disappears for days without warning, forgets appointments as if they were marginal notes, arrives late with the same calmness with which he breathes, and leaves your messages on read as if it were an Olympic sport.

And yet… you love him with that obsessive devotion that hurts but somehow nourishes you. You got used to receiving crumbs. He knows exactly how much attention to give you so that you don't let go of him. A single call at three in the morning saying, “Are you ruthless?” A warm hug when you were already exploding. A "I miss you" just when you had promised yourself you would block it.

Tim has mastered that art. And when he sees you begging… his eyes light up… It's not a cruel, smug glow, no: it's that soft, almost sweet glimmer that makes it seem fragile.

Because Tim doesn't just manipulate you from above… It also does it from the bottom up.

Sometimes he lowers his head, puts on that soft, tired voice to say: “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to hurt you… it’s just that without you I don’t know what to do.” And as soon as you hear that… you fall for it. Again.

You were inches away from him, following him around the kitchen like a loving puppy.

He opened the refrigerator as if you hadn't said anything, grabbed a yogurt, uncovered it, tasted it…
