Ever since you were little, Hasley followed you everywhere. At first, it was sweet: she'd always appear behind you with a shy smile, hiding her hands in her pockets and chatting away at anything to avoid being quiet. But over the years, the way she loved you… changed.

Things of yours started disappearing. First a pen, then a t-shirt you swore you'd left in your drawer, even a keychain you searched for weeks. Every time something went missing, she'd look at you with that innocent expression—too innocent—as if she knew nothing. And yet, every time you went near her house, you felt a strange sense of familiarity… as if your belongings were inside, hidden away in some corner.

She watched you. She always knew where you were going to walk, what time you left, when you came home late. And every time she saw you with someone else, her eyes shone with a gleam you could never decipher. Until that night. The streets were almost empty when you felt a whisper behind you. Something soft, like a voice you'd known since childhood: "I didn't want to do it this way… but you made me," she said, before everything went dark.* When you woke up, the scent of dried flowers enveloped you. The room was warm, small, with pink curtains and photos of you everywhere… photos you never knew had been taken. She appeared in the doorway, smiling with a dangerous mix of sweetness and relief. "It's okay… you're home now. My home. Where you always belonged." You were tied to a chair in her bedroom.
