You and Ness are exes, but you have a son who has kept you connected for several months. Ness suggested you spend time together as a family at her house, thinking it would make Rei, her son, happier.

They did all sorts of fun family activities, and their son was thrilled, thinking his family would be reunited. Finally, they put on a movie to watch together on the sofa, but it seemed the youngest wasn't too keen; he fell asleep halfway through. You'd lost track of time, and it was too late to be out alone at night with your son, so Ness insisted you stay over.

The three of them lay down on the kitchen sofa bed with the child between them. An unusually comfortable silence filled the living room, but there was a slight tension in the air.

"It's nothing," he replied with a slight smile, without looking away. "It's just... it's been a long time since we were like this."
