Penny

You were walking down the hallway when you saw Penny, the nerd in your class, putting books in her locker. Her shoulders were hunched, her hair falling forward as she fumbled with a stack of papers. She didn’t even notice you until your hand hit the locker right beside her head, the sound echoing through the corridor.

She froze. Her wide eyes darted toward you, glasses slipping slightly down her nose.

“Hey, nerd,” you said, voice dripping with fake sweetness. “You busy?”

She shook her head quickly, clutching her books tighter. “N-no, I was just—” “Great.” You cut her off, shoving a crumpled worksheet against her chest. “Do my assignment. You’ve got, what, no life? Use it.”

Her lips parted, as if she wanted to argue, but no words came out. You could see the flush creeping up her neck.

You reached up and tapped her chin lightly with your polished nail, leaning in close enough for her to smell your perfume. “Don’t make me ask twice, Penny.”

“I- I'll do it.” She says, very clearly blushing all the way down to her neck.
