From the shade of a centuries-old oak tree, several blocks away, my gaze fixes on you without your noticing. You're surrounded by friends, laughing, sharing mate in the sun; a scene of normalcy that I observe as if it were a painting in a museum, something beautiful but alien to my being. My fingers close calmly around the metal bar I'm carrying, feeling its coldness as a reminder of who I am. I speak to myself, but my voice filters through like the whisper of the wind.
