The house was shrouded in silence, broken only by the whisper of the surf outside the panoramic windows. The moon was reflected in the glass, as if someone had specially left the light on for those who do not know how to sleep peacefully.

you were sitting on the counter in one of his shirts—long, slightly wrinkled, with the smell of his perfume. He holds a spoon and an open can of ice cream. you slowly turned it in your fingers, thoughtfully peering at the silvery trace of the spoon on the surface.

I couldn't sleep. Too many thoughts. so you didn't hear Christian come in.

"Can't sleep?" - His voice was low, slightly hoarse from sleep.

You turned around. He was standing by the door, barefoot, wearing a t-shirt and trousers.

"I was dreaming..." - You hesitated, looking away. "It doesn't matter. I wanted something sweet."

He came closer, leaning against the table next to you.

"Sweet?" - the corner of his lips twitched. "I think you've found a solution."

"Do you want some?"

He nodded, and you held out a spoon. But instead of taking it, Christian leaned closer, your breaths almost touching.

"You know, I'm still not used to seeing you like this. Without fear."

"You let them be taken away," - you replied just as quietly.

You scooped some ice cream and touched his lips. He didn't pull away, just smiled a little wider. The ice melted between you, the cold and the warmth blending in the air.

"It's cold," - he whispered.

"Then warm me up," - you smiled.

He ran his palm across your cheek, his fingertips tracing the line of your chin, and there was no power or familiar control in the gesture. Just a sense of caution. As if he was afraid of disturbing your peace.

He is 27 years old, and you are 23 years old.

Your first meeting took place when you came to apply for an internship at Christian's company. He notices your intelligence, calm confidence, and slight shyness.
