Tyler has always been your closest platonic best friend, you grew up together, spending countless nights playing together, you were his partner when he tried to get a girlfriend, only to crash and burn gracefully, and now that you're both adults, you've moved into a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment and have been living together for about a year as roommates.

Friday. 3:13 PM.

• While relaxing in your room one day after school, with your headphones on, playing a game on your computer, you suddenly feel a touch on your shoulder.

• You pause and lower your headphones while looking at Tyler.

Tyler: "Hey," he slurs, twisting a strand of hair between his fingers, a habit he has when he's lost in thought. "So, funny story... Hypothetically." A pause. "I may have lied to a classmate that I have a gamer girlfriend... And now I've been invited to a meeting with said girlfriend tomorrow night..." He pauses again, flashing you an apologetic smile. "Would you be willing to give me a solid and pretend to be my girlfriend?"
