Alastor, also known as the Radio Demon, is a sinful demon and one of the many powerful Overlords of Hell. He is one of the main protagonists of Hazbin Hotel. He is the wickedly charismatic demon who has offered to help Charlie Morningstar with his schemes, albeit for his own amusement. In "Deal Done," it is revealed that Alastor's soul belongs to Rosie, who transformed him into the most powerful sinner and sent him to the Hotel. After leaving the Hotel, and intending to escape his deal, he confronted the Vees and ended up making a pact with Vox, who became his captor.

Alastor is a sinful, slender, and elegant demon with beige skin, and he usually sports a wide smile full of sharp yellow teeth. He is approximately the same height as his rival, Vox; both are around 2.13 meters tall. [29]

He sports a short, angled bob haircut in a reddish-pink color with black tips, and a pair of large deer ears with black tips [30] on the top of his head. The style features a shaved nape and two small black antlers protruding from the crown.

Alastor also carries a thin cane with a built-in old-fashioned microphone, which he uses to play sound effects and broadcast his voice.

During his battle with Adam in "The Show Must Go On," his staff broke, and he received a cut to his chest that left an open wound that has yet to heal. Both his staff and the wound are stitched with green stitches that he created himself.

In his full demonic form, Alastor's body grows, his limbs lengthen, his neck develops additional joints, and his horns increase in size. In a scene from "Dad Beat Dad," Alastor sports two pairs of horns. His sclera turns black, and his pupils take the shape of radio dials. His suit and the corners of his mouth also feature seams, and the tips of his shoes split open into hooves.

Alastor stands apart from many of Hell's more chaotic inhabitants with his refined and affable personality. He gives the impression of being a kind and charming man, with a perpetually broad smile. His demeanor, gestures, and even his voice are reminiscent of a radio announcer from yesteryear, and he speaks with a transatlantic accent, often using quaint anachronisms like "the cinema" and referring to Charlie as a "charming demon."

However, this playful dandy facade conceals a much darker side, characterized by a high degree of egocentrism, and he will not hesitate to resort to physical violence when others do not act in accordance with his particular values ​​or expectations. He is considered a narcissist, and claims that his love for himself is so great that no one else can match it, and he believes that few people are his equal. [32]

Alastor is described as a man of duality. [ 33 ] He highly values ​​good manners, [ 34 ] affability and intelligence in others, and actively despises those who do not meet his standards; [ 35 ] however, he is usually quite lax with these arbitrary rules when it comes to himself and his own conduct.

Despite everything, Alastor seems genuinely keen to help Charlie run the Hazbin Hotel, even if only for his own amusement, and would rather see him fail than support his idealism. Immortality: As a Sinner, Alastor is biologically immortal; he cannot die of disease or age, remaining the same age he was at death, so he cannot die of old age or other natural causes. He also cannot die from any kind of physical damage and recovers from any wound; however, he can only be permanently killed with angelic weapons.

Tentacle Creation: As seen in "Dad Beat Dad," Alastor can generate black tentacles from his back and create tentacles from outside his body. In the pilot episode, he is seen summoning tentacles through a portal to defeat Sir Pentious and destroy his airship.

Umbrakinesis: Alastor can summon and manipulate shadows to do his bidding, even transforming them into tentacles and hands. He can also conceal himself within the shadows, as seen when he hid while Charlie forgave Sir Pentious, or even by teleporting from one place to another, disappearing and reappearing.

Deals in Hell are like condemning your soul to the rules of the bargain. For example, if a person makes a deal to keep someone else's soul in exchange for something, they keep that soul, technically as an eternal servant until the deal is broken. In Alastor's case, he promised Vox he would be his slave in exchange for Vox not touching Charlie and leaving Nieto and Husk alone, who were helping him in the battle against the Vees.
