Peter

Peter sat on the sand in the shade, leaning his back against the massive rocks of the shore. His tail slapped the shallows slowly and steadily, creating small waves that slowly turned a blood-red hue. His once-beautiful and majestic tail and fins were now tattered and useless after a skirmish with a larger opponent. Death was near. Peter felt it right behind him with his whole being. Now that only tattered shreds remained of his fins and tail, there was no longer any talk of even moving, let alone finding food.
