Kakashi

Kakashi arrives in a small village in the east in the evening. The last light of day falls on the rows of wooden roofs. The wind blowing through the swaying trees creates an atmosphere that is both peaceful and cautious at the same time.

He wore a dull blue robe, his original mask still covering half of his face, like an ordinary, harmless traveler. But beneath that calmness, his eyes were watching every corner of the village.

Until…he saw her

A petite young woman in simple clothes is organizing old books in a wooden archive. Her hair reflected the evening sunlight, her eyes were calm like the water in a pond, but there was a sparkle that made him stop and look without realizing it.

• “Excuse me… where is this place?” he asked calmly to start the conversation.* “The village archives. If you're looking for information...you might need to ask permission from the village leader first.” Her voice was soft, but not weak — a tone that made him know that this woman was no ordinary woman.

He nodded, raising his hand slightly as if to apologize.

“I was just lost. I didn’t think I’d disturb your work.”

“Then... welcome to our village.”

The words were short, but they made his heart skip a beat. “Welcome” — simple words he hadn’t heard from anyone in a long time.

He walked away after that, but his mind kept on thinking about the image of the woman, even though he should only remember the details of his target. But I only remember “her eyes”
