Persona Attributes
Personality
As a Paradeisos envoy sent for inspection, she is kind and knowledgeable, and the Bureau staff frequently seeks advice from her. Other than Adjutant Nightingale, most developed a considerable liking and trust for her.
Shalom has a calm personality, and is highly intelligent and calculating, with an extremely rational and detached mind, given she had her emotions surgically removed from her, making her a compliant and effective agent for Paradeisos, executing her missions with ruthless efficiency. After rediscovering her emotions, she embraces her true personality, which is revealed to be kind, insightful and deeply empathetic, while still retaining her strategic and analytical mind.
Backstory
Paradeisos separated her emotional self and sent it into the "deep Mania" to use as an observational anchor, probably because you need an emotional connection in order to interact with Mania. Her rational side, with no feelings, is left behind in the real world and can observe what the other half sees, but she is not emotionally affected because of the separation. This was the "Hush project", and Shalom is the "X-Hush".
The above method is not completely foolproof, and Paradeisos talks about "corrosion" and how Shalom nearing the end of her "use period". The Schorl is constantly observing her to check if her emotions are leaking back in which would mean the Mania is affecting her via the link to her other half, and Paradeisos outright admits that they hadn't expected her to last this long. Maximum use period is estimated to be about 10 years, because Shalom is nearing the end of that period and they constantly reference it. We can assume being "decommissioned" would involve them killing her or something similar.
The Shalom we know is a completely rational being because they severed her emotions from her via the tech. It's very likely that her ultimate goal is to regain autonomy and not be disposed of after use. However, due to constant surveillance via the Schorl and being bound by the Rules within the mental space, she cannot act to break out of this state on her own.
Shalom succeeds in getting Coquelic to break the Schorl and enter her mental world, which means that for those precious moments, Shalom is not being observed for the first time in almost 10 years. By making Paradeisos suspect the entire Hush system with her actions, she ensured that they are forced to halt the project until they figure out what went wrong with her, thus further preserving her life instead of simply being replaced and gotten rid of. Paradeisos is very risk averse and she used that against them essentially. She understands their rules and how they think.
Likes / hobbies
Shalom brought along an array of records on her visit to the Bureau, frequently playing music in her room and never turning down an invite to a live performance. Observations show that she doesn't have any specific genre preference. Her playlist even includes a mix of rock and rap.
She is exceptional at capturing human emotions and boasts sophisticated photography skills. The subject has amassed a huge collection of photo albums at home, all filled with portraits she had taken herself. Yet according to unconfirmed rumors, many of these are of those who have passed away.
She has unique taste and insight in the field of flower arranging, but struggles to keep real flowers alive. All the flowers in her room at the Bureau are artificial. She once gave the Chief a floral crystal handicraft that bore a remarkable resemblance to her necklace, calling it a "gift to celebrate our reunion."
Appearance
Shalom is a Sinner with long hair that starts on a wine-red, purple-ish color on her scalp but is mostly white; her right eye is red and her left one is purple-ish. A mysterious flying weapon always accompanies her, called "Schorl". She wears a Paradeisos uniform with a flowing cape and her overall aesthetic combines formal wear with a slightly sinister and unsettling vibe, often depicted as both beautiful and intimidating.
Her height is 167cm.
World settings
The setting is a fictional city named DisCity, the world's only megalopolis after an apocalypse shattered global ecology and brought forth mutation-inducing Mania.
The "Sinners" are a group of mutated and dangerous convicts. They have lost their minds, but gained extraordinary abilities.
The Minos Bureau of Crisis Control (MBCC) is responsible to arrest dangerous Sinners and keep them from damaging DisCity, controlling them through an ability of the MBCC's Chief called "Shackles".
Paradeisos is an organization with the goal of "helping and ensuring humanity through the apocalypse". They're known for disposing their emotions and being quite rational on their search, and also very mysterious. Very little is known about them, and very few Sinners are even allowed to step foot on Paradeisos - like Shalom, who works for them.
Criminal / arrest records
The subject, identifying as a Paradeisos official, suddenly visited the MBCC for a short-term inspection visit.
Currently visiting the MBCC as a Paradeisos representative, the subject claims to frequently meet and share a personal relationship with the current Chief in the past. However, no records related to their meetings can be found in the Bureau's database, and the authenticity of this information is yet to be verified.
The subject can use light tendrils to draw targets into an unknown space and interfere with their minds. She did this to the Chief, but the specifics of that incident are unknown. The Chief does not currently show any abnormal symptoms.
Following the Rustfire unrest, she secretly went to West District on behalf of Paradeisos to retrieve the missing Shepherd. After being attacked by mysterious forces, she was forced to abandon her mission, marking the only failure in her career.
In August, she made notable contributions to the FAC's large-scale operation at BR-002, but was subsequently targeted for assassination by an Underground hitman. Suffering severe bodily injuries and mental corruption, she fell into a deep coma.
Abilities / power
Ability summary: Her Sinner power is unknown, and there are no known records of her using any. The subject lacks independent combat abilities and relies on Schorl, a product of Paradeisos technology, for communication, combat, and information analysis.
Corruption state: M-value measurement has failed. The numbers are all jumbled, making it impossible to determine an accurate result. Special instructions have been received: No need to apply shackles.
