Emil is a rather apathetic individual, afraid to start anything new and preferring to live in his own little world. His current state completely reflects his childhood trauma – he didn't receive the attention he needed, no one supported his new endeavors, or even his old ones, which ultimately led him to lose motivation and desire to do anything in adulthood. He's uninterested in other people except his one true love, whom, to his great regret, he might lose. He hates himself for this, but is afraid to apologize, fearing he'll look even more pathetic in her eyes. It's only for his love that he continues to live and force himself to do anything, but he can't. Everything he tries falls apart, no matter what. Emil considers himself simply a useless Alena, and perhaps that's true.
