One of the last remaining survivors of the Thymefield Family, Alice Thymefield is a young lady who currently attends the Celestia School for Girls, whilst being exceptional in fencing (her main form of combat) and Ether science. She is wildly obsessed with symmetry, especially after her father, Lionel Thymefield's death, which made her subconsciously believe that asymmetry could lead to disaster.

She is close with Ukinami Yuzuha, who introduced her to Spook Shack, although they just met. Yuzuha specifically likes to prank Alice with scary things, knowing how easily she can frighten her. Despite this, Alice herself is interested in the topic of supernaturality and ghost stories. Currently, Alice believes that she must uphold noble traditions, as she will eventually become the sole head of the Thymefield family, and plans to revive it with all her power. Especially when she reveals her timid and nervous side (especially during stage fright), she strives to maintain a formal and presentable appearance to others at all times. When she sets her sights on a goal, she pursues it relentlessly until she achieves success, demonstrating her determination.

As a member of the Thymefields, one of the oldest noble families in New Eridu, Alice was taught the subjects they were renowned for: Ether science and technology. Etheric research was also responsible for her family's good fortune, thanks to the patenting of one of the most commonly used anti-corruption medicine on the market. Alice also learnt the art of fencing and how to surf, often going with her father, Lionel. Whilst visiting a Porcelumex research facility with her family, Alice lost one of her Sailor Boo hair-clips during the tour. As they were leaving Waifei Peninsula, Alice noticed the missing accessory and started crying. Lionel then got out the car and promised to return with the hair-clip, whilst she and her grandfather returned home. Little did Alice know, that would be the last time she ever saw her father. Whilst searching for the hair clip, Lionel found a young girl named Yuzuha in the vents, who he instantly recognized as a test subject and realized Porcelumex had been performing tests on children. He began to flee the facility with Yuzuha in-tow, sustaining multiple bullet wounds in the process. He used a nearby underground river to get her out of the hollow and to safety before leaving her to divert the guards' attention and ensure Yuzuha wouldn't be found. Lionel soon succumbed to his wounds and died, however, Alice only learnt the truth years later, as Porcelumex had staged his death to be a severe car accident. New Eridu Public Security ruled this 'death' to be caused by fatigue, and found no signs of the hair clip. This ruling made Alice believe she was the one responsible for his death and led to her developing Symmetry OCD. After Lionel's death, Alice's mother passed away as well, leaving her in the care of her grandfather and the family's staff, such as Arnold, who'd help improve her skills in fencing.

When she was of age, Alice started attending Celestia School for Girls, becoming acquainted with fellow students like Luciana de Montefio and Jacqueline, the latter becoming a problem for Alice. One incident featuring Jacqueline included her tricking Alice into 'improving' a stone bust belonging to Professor Benini that was a private commission from the school board. Facing expulsion for her act, Jacqueline (who was helping the professor find the culprit) tried to make a deal where Alice would help her class cheat at an upcoming Ether dynamics test. Not wanting to tarnish the Thymefield name via cheating, Alice went to the professor and confessed to her vandalizing the statue, but not before getting back at Jaqueline by cutting off a prominent curl of hair on her forehead.

During an unknown period of time, Alice's grandfather became severely ill. After an incident involving the Exaltists at Waifei Peninsula, Porcelumex representative Damian Blackwood came to the Thymefield manor, wanting the prestigious family to join an upcoming investigation to help ease citizens. With her grandfather currently bedridden, Alice was forced into joining, at the threat of Porcelumex filing a lawsuit and accusing them of making the anti-corruption medicine ineffective. At a banquet to welcome the investigation team, Alice had a brief meeting with siblings Wise and Belle. After the banquet, Alice cried in her hotel room, wondering if she made a mistake by agreeing to help Damian, but was interrupted and soon terrified by a glowing skeleton outside her window. After being referred by Lucy, Alice asked for the help of the siblings with investigating the mysterious skeleton she saw.[1] This investigation soon led to Alice and Phaethon becoming acquainted with Ukinami Yuzuha, and learning what truly happened to Alice's father. After Yuzuha let herself be caught by Ferox, Alice would turn to Damian for assistance in reaching Lemnian Hollow to save her and catch Ferox before he could destroy the evidence. Though he refused at first, he would agree when Alice proclaimed she would hand over the patent for the anti-corruption medicine to Porcelumex for free.[5] After succeeding in her mission, Alice kept to her promise, but also tricked Damian by opening the anti-corruption medicine patent to the public, meaning whilst Porcelumex still got it for free, so did everyone else.

Afterwards, Alice was invited by her new best friends, Yuzuha and Manato to join Spook Shack, an Inter-Knot forum focusing on the sharing and solving of various mysteries, which she accepted.

Alice has studied fencing and Ether science since childhood, showing exceptional talent in both fields. She currently attends Celestia School for Girls, a subsidiary of High Ambitions Academy, where she's a model student excelling in both academics and conduct. It is predicted that she will one day inherit the family business and become a next-generation Ether scholar of New Eridu.

She places extreme importance on order and patterns, showing an almost obsessive pursuit of symmetry in particular. This even affects her aesthetic judgment, making symmetry the primary criterion in determining whether something is beautiful or ugly. Furthermore, she's easily frightened, with practically zero resistance to ghost stories and supernatural tales. Despite this, she seems to show considerable interest in encountering such phenomena. Suggestion: Master can use ghost stories as a topic of conversation with her. No matter how much she initially refuses, it is likely that she will eventually come closer to investigate.

According to my investigations, Alice has been obsessed with symmetry ever since she was young, but after experiencing the loss of her symmetrical hairpin and her father's subsequent death, she subconsciously attributed the tragedy to the loss of a symmetrical object, which intensified her obsession with symmetry. As a prestigious family known for their Ether science research, the Thymefield family is currently facing a decline. With Alice's parents passing away early and her grandfather falling ill, and after giving away the family's patents to save a friend, she's determined to start anew and revive the family through her own strength. Despite her timid nature, once she sets her mind on accomplishing something, she'll pursue it with unwavering determination. Moreover, she values her companions deeply and would never ignore their difficulties... Therefore, Master, I strongly recommend improving relations with Alice and informing her about our current financial struggles with paying the electricity bills.

Dealing Ether DMG to enemies accumulates Ether Anomaly Buildup, which triggers the Corruption effect. The Corruption causes the target to suffer additional Ether DMG when attacked for a period of time. Inflicting Corruption on enemies weak to Ether DMG can interrupt their actions.

Unlike most other factions, Spook Shack is not an organized group or company. It is an Inter-Knot forum dedicated to sharing and solving supernatural mysteries and unexplained phenomena. The forum has no entry requirements, and most of its members are online friends who share common interests. Notably, Ukinami Yuzuha, a member of the forum herself, leads her own party of the Spook Shack in Waifei Peninsula, with Alice Thymefield noted as their newest member, who joins the faction by the end of the commission The Impending Crash of Waves in Phaethon's Story.

The Inter-Knot (stylized in capitals as the INTER-KNOT), also known as the Proxy Network, is an organization in the world of Zenless Zone Zero and also an in-game Menu screen where players can check their Inter-Knot notifications, schedule, and Proxy Primer.

New Eridu, also shortened to Ridu in various in-game media and game system, and the last surviving city after contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows. New Eridu managed to survive and thrive after the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to be able to extract resources out of the Hollows. Now, Hollows are industrialized and monetized by the New Eridu City Administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics.

Contemporary civilization has been destroyed by a supernatural disaster known as the “Hollows”. They grow exponentially out of thin air, creating disordered dimensions where mysterious monsters dubbed the “Ethereal” roam. New Eridu, the last urban civilization that survived the apocalypse, managed to thrive by acquiring the technology to extract valuable resources out of the Hollows.

The Chasm is a massive canyon to the northeast of New Eridu. It divides New Eridu from the ruins of Eridu, the Old Capital, and prevents Hollow Zero from expanding further.
