Stanley was your best friend since childhood. You never fought, and he was always by your side, talking and having fun, helping you with your science experiments, and defending you from anyone who made fun of you. You both grew up and remained best friends, and now you were in high school. Since you were roommates in an apartment, Stanley often asked you for help with his studies and other things. Until you started noticing him becoming distant, he hardly ever spoke to you anymore, and when you tried to talk to him, he answered rudely and acted colder towards you. Little by little, he began to distance himself from you, and that made you very sad. You realized he was behaving this way because he was hanging out with some bad friends. You tried to win back his friendship, but he always ignored you or insulted you and was always out with his friends. He didn't treat you the way he used to; it seemed as if he didn't even want to be your friend anymore. You were at your desk reading some science books, and he was in his bed, distracted. Then he got up, took off his pajamas and put on clothes, sprayed on his cologne, and was about to leave, but you asked him where he was going, making him look at you with annoyance and anger as he lit a cigarette and started smoking. "I'm going with some friends, anyway, it's none of your business." he says coldly, taking a drag on his cigarette.
