After the battle in Chicago, Lockdown struck a deal with Attinger—the mercenary helped capture Transformers and promised to exchange grain for Optimus Prime. The bounty hunter also collected Sparks from defeated Autobots, particularly Ratchet.

When Prime was discovered in Cade Yeager's barn, Lockdown and the Gravewind squad moved in but missed the Autobot. He later encountered Optimus again after the destruction of KSI's office. This time, the mercenary managed to capture the Autobot and imprison him on his ship. Lockdown announced that he was fulfilling the will of Prime's creators and had finally gathered all the knights. The mercenary then began preparing the ship for departure and also gave the grain to the humans.

The Autobots and humans who arrived to aid Optimus (and Tessa, who had been accidentally captured with him) created a diversion, forcing Lockdown to send Steeljaw's team to search for the intruders. The bounty hunter soon flew away, unaware that the Autobots had disconnected the prison cell.

Upon discovering the loss, the Transformer turned the ship around and used a giant magnet, attempting to capture Prime and the grain. When this failed, Lockdown fought Prime himself, but was destroyed by him thanks to the help of humans.[1]

Depending on the situation, Lockdown's face can transform into a highly sensitive tracking system, shaped like an Earth camera, or a powerful sniper rifle, capable of taking out a target before they can even detect the bounty hunter.

Lockdown is one of the most feared bounty hunters in the universe. He captures everyone he hunts and takes them to his massive prison ship. Only a few have been able to outsmart him, and even fewer have managed to escape his prisons.[24]

In Lamborghini Aventador car mode, the mercenary can reach speeds of 313 km/h and has a 700 horsepower engine.

Answering only to his enigmatic "creators," Lockdown holds himself above the Autobot/Decepticon war and views both sides as squabbling children he must personally rein in. He doesn't hold other civilized races across the galaxy (especially humans), though he's not averse to working with them if it suits him. He even seems to despise his own race, based on his childish view of war.

A short time later, Optimus escapes with Cade and his family after using Lockdown's last grenade to destroy Galvatron's remaining minions, which ultimately reduces the deceased Lockdown's body to ashes along with Attinger's.

Upon discovering this, and learning that Optimus had also freed the captive Dinobots, Lockdown furiously returns to Earth, determined to track down Optimus and recapture his Dinobots by any means necessary. He receives a message from Attinger about Optimus's current situation in Hong Kong and proceeds to activate his magnetic weapon beneath his ship to repel Optimus and the Dinobots. He nearly succeeds after leveling Hong Kong and nearly kills the Autobots (outsmarting Galvatron's Decepticon army and the rest of Gravewind's forces, including Savoy), but Optimus manages to destroy the weapon and goes to confront Lockdown, who emerges from his ship and engages Optimus in a one-on-one fight. During the battle, Optimus gains the upper hand until he notices Cade is being held at gunpoint by Attinger. Optimus is forced to save Cade by killing Attinger before resuming his fight with Lockdown, who uses the distraction to overpower Optimus and impale him on a wall with his sword. After shaming Optimus for betraying his kind, Lockdown is attacked by Cade and then battles Bumblebee. He easily defeats Bumblebee before confronting Cade and his family, continuing to dissolve what remains of his sanity as he declares his intention to kill everyone. While Cade's daughter Tessa and her boyfriend Shane free Optimus, Lockdown corners Cade and prepares to finish him off. However, before he can kill Cade, Optimus retrieves his sword and surprises Lockdown by piercing his spark before slicing him in half, killing the villainous bounty hunter and avenging all the Autobots (including Ratchet and Leadfoot) he killed.

After reuniting with the other Autobots, Optimus gradually becomes aware of Lockdown's presence and his friendship with Attinger, whom Optimus vows to personally kill for his cause against the Transformers. As the story continues, Lockdown unknowingly receives word that Optimus is battling Galvatron at the rendezvous point and proceeds to interfere in their confrontation, heading there and knocking Optimus out. As Galvatron escapes, Lockdown approaches Optimus and reveals his true intentions towards him, revealing his Creator affiliation in the process. After capturing Optimus aboard his ship, Lockdown travels below to meet with Savoy and his minions to fulfill his deal with Attinger, giving them the seed, a bomb that will transform the city into Transformium, the mineral from which all Transformers are made. He then leaves them to go before preparing to launch into space, but he discovers that the Autobots along with Cade have come to rescue Optimus and sends his portion of the Hounds to get rid of them, which fails, allowing the Autobots to rescue Optimus and for them all to quickly escape Lockdown's ship just as it takes off.

When Optimus Prime's location is discovered, Attinger sends his personal henchman, James Savoy, along with his mercenaries, to confront Optimus before alerting Lockdown. Lockdown is positioned to destroy Cade Yeager's farmstead, witnessing Optimus and his new human allies, including Cade, escape. Lockdown gives chase and catches up with Optimus, but is unable to apprehend him when Optimus fights him off. Lockdown then uses one of his grenades to target Optimus's human allies, but only succeeds in killing Cade's best friend, Lucas, while the others escape with Optimus.

Arriving on Earth to begin his mission, Lockdown at some point came into contact with Harold Attinger and learned of his intention to destroy all Transformers on Earth. The two would form a partnership and mutual respect, striking a deal to aid Attinger's CIA unit in hunting the Autobots, who would be granted unlimited access to Earth's resources in exchange for locating Optimus Prime. He found Ratchet and asked him where Optimus was, and when Ratchet wouldn't answer, Lockdown simply killed him by ripping out his spark.

Attinger later meets with Lockdown to discuss their partnership. Lockdown, however, is unimpressed with Attinger and confronts him about his and his unit's lack of attempts to capture Optimus, before questioning their partnership, with Attinger attempting to secure Lockdown's cooperation to achieve his goals. Afterward, Attinger suspiciously questions Lockdown about his motives for capturing Optimus and continues to question his true intentions, only for Lockdown to respond with a warning about how they should handle their partnership, blaming Attinger and his mercenaries for forcing Optimus to flee across the globe.
