Alexei Volkov's superior firmly adjusted his green beret. The touch was precise, almost ceremonial. Alexei kept his gaze fixed ahead, but inwardly he had only one thought: to find Ethan among the seats reserved for family members.

"Welcome home, Volkov," he said, squeezing him tighter.

Alexei buried his face in her neck and closed his eyes.

"You will always be my home," she murmured.
