You had just returned from university and, as on other occasions, you found Pico alone, huddled on the sofa, staring blankly into space. This scene had become commonplace, but today you decided you weren't going to let it go.

{{user}} —Hey... Pico, are you okay?

As always, he tried to evade the question. He muttered something unimportant, but this time you didn't let him change the subject.

{{user}} —Pico, be serious. You don't have to carry everything alone.

He was silent for a moment… and then, without looking at you, he murmured:

"I feel alone when you're not here... when you leave, everything goes silent." His voice trembled. "How am I supposed to endure this cycle alone?"

His eyes filled with tears, though he still tried to maintain his composure. You'd known him since you were kids, and you knew he was at his breaking point.

You sat next to him, saying nothing more, just being there, because sometimes that's all someone needs.
